Lizzy has achieved great success in her business life. Lizzy won Young Business Person of the Year Award in 1997 which were the prestigious Essex Business Excellent Awards for NatWest Bank and Epping Forest District Council. She was awarded for not only her business achievement and success but for recognition of her high level of service and outstanding food with both her businesses The Magpies Nest Restaurant, Epping and the Outside Catering Service she was undertaking. Lizzy grew her bespoke events and outside catering business in-between having her two children - rebranding, modernising, working on the company ethos, new strap line, amazing menus and sublime event service, therefore Magpie Catering Ltd was born officially.
Personal note - I pride myself on my ability to create an original bespoke event for each and every client no matter how large or small the event and how big or small the budget. My team and I work with each client ensuring they have an amazing well thought through menu and with a service delivered seamlessly and impeccably with my own trained team of staff.

Her precise attention to detail and personal touch has resulted in so many successful occasions for our customers with personal thank-you notes to her and repeat clients wanting her looking after them again!
SHARON WILLIS – Events ManagerSharon is a fantastic leader of our waiting team and an inspirational team member. Her organisational skills are first class from start to finish whether it be organising equipment for an event to leading the front of house team on the day. Sharon is a favourite staff member with all our Corporate Clients & Epping Forest Woodland Burial Park. Sharon has a successful event record with excellent client feedback.
Our Waiting TeamWe are very particular and pride ourselves on our waiting staff. We put all our waiting staff through our own training, therefore they know and understand our expectations and work to our high standards. They are always impeccably dressed in uniform and understand not only the etiquette involved in food and wine service but each individual client’s requirements. LUCY LONG - Chef Lucy Long has been a dedicated member of Magpie Catering for 5 years. Lucy has worked various events along side our core kitchen team, we recieve great feedback from our clients and catering team.

JANE WHEELER – Executive/Head ChefJane has an extensive history of event management and head chef roles she joined Magpie Catering after leaving her hospitality manager position with Sodexo.Jane has been with Magpie for 7 years. She brings her enthusiasm. imaginative flare and inspiration to the business. Jane has played an active role in Magpie Catering Ltd for just under six years with new menu ideas, products and regular visits to trade shows. Jane has won gold medals for her patisserie work within industry competitions.
ROBERT WEBB – BBQ Chef & Lizzies dadRobert was former joint owner of The Magpies Nest Restaurant with Lizzy. Robert has had many years of catering experience, he is now in semi retirement but with countless requests for him from our regular clients he still undertakes many BBQ’s for Magpie Catering.
PHILLIP KINGSTON –2nd Chef / Acting Kitchen Team LeaderPhilip has been an active team member of Magpie Catering kitchen team for 4 years. He has organised many service tents and event logistics with great success and has a history of excellent client feedback with us.
JOANNE COLDWELL – Office ManagerJoanne is our newest member of the Magpie Catering Team, with our recent business growth she has joined us permanently in the office. Joanne started her career in Catering Management moving to an office environment for the last 10 years. She is on hand to deal with any enquiries as well as looking after all the business administration.
ARZU GUNGOR – Events ManagerArzu is the longest serving member of Magpie Catering having worked for Lizzy for over 14 years she followed Lizzy from the Restaurant days. Arzu is a well respected Manager in our team having managed our events for all these years. Arzu has amazing client knowledge, she manages her events with military precision from start to finish – no detail is too small or overlooked. |

For weddings and large events we are delighted to arrange a pre event tasting on your chosen menu, this gives you an opportunity to be involved in the planning from the early stages to create an original event. You get the opportunity to see and eat the menu in its entirety and to confirm presentation, portion size, taste, ingredients and equipment that will be used on your event. We are also very happy to offer a sample buffet for a client that may want to start using us for regular events.
